I don't know where to start. You really want to know about me? Well, truthfully, I'm a mess...

I come from a large family. Both sets of grandparents were farmers. My father was also a farmer and a fisherman. My mother was a school teacher.  As a young child, I  spent most evenings star and moon gazing enamored with the night sky, wondering what was beyond them and our own horizon. In the little time I spent in the halls of academia, the place I felt most comfortable wasn't inside those walls, but outside in the garden on the school grounds. I recall spending hours there, noticing the varying stages of growth, becoming fascinated with the process of knowing the how and why of life. It's safe to say my fixation with health started as a young boy during these formative and inquisitive years just outside the walls that are meant to educate young minds.

While penning Sickle Cell Disease Sickle Cell Trait: The Triumphant Struggle of One Man, I realized this book reads more like a memoir than a medical journal outlining clinical processes to bring about a desired effect. All these years later, my interest remains unchanged, but my hope is that from my struggles and my successes you embark on your path to recovery or discovery.
